2015 resolution is to 'Do good'.
Now, this is a very ambiguous resolution, one that is probably even more difficult to measure, than explain, throughout the year. As a designer and observer; I see lots of very well designed things day to day- spaces, outfits, architecture, materials, menus, letters and signage. It's continues to be a dream, to create things of this revere for my entire life.
"Do Good" is an idea of that was born after my Design for Social Issues course taught by L. Babb my senior year at SCAD. The goal of this resolution is to force myself to be extremely selective. Choosing to dedicate my time to something that I am passionate about, in this field most people refer to this as "passion project". A poster layout, dodge ball tee shirt, business card, website, and doing it at little to no charge, maybe even barter services. My hopes with this resolution is to become even more aware of my contribution to this world as a designer, that I help make the things we pass daily, beautifully purposeful.
[Update 2/4/15]: I have successfully completed my first contribution of 'good' in 2015. Pairing up with a talented designer and friend here in Phx, we created a series of way-finding signage for the mass amount of visitors for the 2015 Super Bowl, Pro Bowl and TPC walking Roosevelt.
